  • I took in charge of the college on the first of June 2012 from Fr. Jeevanadas Fernando OMI at the request of His Lordship Rev. Dr. Kingsley Swampillai, the bishop of Trincomalee. The college is endowed with devoted staff. It is also assured by a dedicated team of OBA, Trincomalee Rev Fr. Noel Emmanuel the vicar foraene as its general secretary and Mr. S. Thevasahayam, former teacher and teacher centre manager, Trincomalee as the secretary of school development committee (SDC).

The OBA Canada and London is of full concern in the development of the college activities. Our college students were honored for their excellent performance in mathematic competition. Two of our sport teams (foot ball and carom) are qualified for the national tournament for the year 2012. Further, we have restarted the sport hostel and designed plans to improve sports with the support of the OBA sports secretary, Trincomalee. We have already launched the following projects to improve studies of our students:

    • # Unit exams and special literary classes for primary students
    • # Special classes and unit exams (every Saturday) for O/Level.
    • # Special projects for Mathematics and English for O/Level
    • # Unit exams for A/Level

From next year 2013, these projects will be extended to Grade six onwards. Any plan we design and any effort launch involves man power and financial assistance for which the college depends on the past students and well wishers. Progress of any institution demands collaborative work.

We humbly invite all who dream of the bright future of St. Joseph’s college, to join hands with us in the journey of the progress of our Alma Mater. With regards God bless you
Rev. Fr. S. Antony Poncian OMI
